I am always looking for classroom volunteers.  In the beginning of the school year, I will send home a Classroom Volunteer Sign-Up Letter with your child.  As the year goes on and we need field trip chaperones or other types of volunteers, I will send home notes and post information on this page.

Classroom Assistant

This position is for those volunteers that are up for anything.  Classroom Assistants may be asked to...

  • Cut out items

  • Die-Cut Shapes or Letters

  • Laminate Items

  • Sort Papers

  • Collate Papers

  • Trace shapes

  • Hang up or take down items

  • Work with students

  • Create items for our classroom

W.E.B. Volunteer

W.E.B. Volunteers will meet with students on a regular basis.  Each year I am flexible on the day, but I like to have a few volunteers commit to a weekly or bi-weekly day to meet with students.  Ideally, I would like to have a volunteer meet with students each week on the same day of the weeks.  It works best if I have two or more W.E.B. volunteers.  W.E.B. Volunteers meet with each student for approximately 10 minutes and discuss what he/she read during the past week.  The volunteers have a list of questions they can ask to help prompt the students.  The volunteers sign off on their W.E.B. Reading Logs, fill out some information about their meeting and hand out prizes to students who met their weekly reading goal.

Wolf's Den Volunteer

Information about our Wolf's Den Volunteers is put out by our Wolf's Den coordinators.  Wolf's Den is our school's book publishing program.  They are always looking for volunteers to come in and help out in the classrooms by meeting with students and reviewing their pieces of work along with filling out the necessary paperwork.  Other positions include Typists (to type up the student's stories from home), Publishers (put the books together) and more!  As more information becomes available, I will update the website.

Help from Home

This position is for those volunteers that cannot come into the classroom due to their schedule or other reasons, but want to help out from home.  Home Volunteers may be asked to...

  • Glue items

  • Cut out items

  • Trace items

  • Type up student work

  • Sort Papers

  • Collate papers

Field Trip Chaperones

On certain Field Trips, we will need Chaperones.  As these positions become available, I will post that information.

Economics Fair Helpers

In March, our class will begin to make their products for the Economics Fair.  I am always looking for volunteers to come in and assist the students in making or designing their products as well as helping to create their store fronts and signs.  More information will be made available once the students choose their products in Mid-March.

Party Volunteers

At Parents' Night, I will have sign-up sheets for our classroom parties.  I will need volunteers to send in food and other items, such as forks, plates, napkins, etc.  I will also need two parent volunteers per party to help out and coordinate activities.

Other

As other volunteer opportunities become available, I will post them in this box.
