Our Classroom Behavior Plan
Positive
Packs In our classroom, we have Positive
Packs, which are used school wide to reward students for
positive behavior. Students that make positive choices or
are "caught being good" can receive a Positive Pack.
Students fill out their name and classroom and turn the
positive pack into the office. On certain mornings, Positive
Packs are pulled from a jar and the student names are called
out to come to the office and receive a reward.
Pearce Pride Cards
Another way to be reward for positive behavior and positive
choices is by earning a Pearce Pride Card. Pearce Pride
cards can be redeemed on a Pearce Pride Redemption Day for a
variety of different items!
The Card System
Here is how it
works. A student is asked to "flip" a card when he/she breaks a
classroom rule or makes an undesirable choice. Each color has a consequence.
I have a chart on the front of my desk that holds different
colored cards. On my desk I keep a Behavior Log Notebook
that has record keeping sheets to help me document the
various behaviors of students that are asked to "flip" a
card. I use a 5 color card system- white, green, yellow,
orange and red. Everyone starts on white (this is the
cover card). Then, the colors and consequences are as follows:
Green: Warning
Yellow: Five
minutes away from the group to think and reflect
Orange:
Time away from the class/group to complete a Behavior
Reflection Form- Form will need to be signed by the
teacher, student and parents and returned to school the
next day
Red: Phone call, e-mail or note home
and talk with the teacher or principal about your
behavior or actions
